Umar Akmal, a cricket player for Pakistan, shared startling details on Wahab Riaz’s reaction to his request to rejoin the national team.

Since his “final appearance for Pakistan in a 3-match home series against Sri Lanka in 2019, Akmal, who played in 16-Test matches, 121-ODIs, and 84-T20Is, has been missing from the national team”.

The right-hander has already said that he hopes to rejoin the Pakistani team.

Umar Akmal recently told a program that he had told Wahab Riaz, the previous manager of the Pakistan cricket team, about his want to play for his country.

“People ask me if I participated in trials, and I keep responding that I want to play. Have you played trial matches?” Wahab Riaz questioned. “What are you talking about?” I asked. He answered, “I explained to him that I am always available.”

Furthermore Umar Akmal, a middle-order batsman, also made startling remarks on his disagreements with outgoing head coach Waqar Younis in a previous interview.

Akmal recounted one instance in which Younis said, “You’ve begun to play T20 cricket in Tests,” rather than praising him for reaching a century in a Test match.

Umar Akmal voiced his disappointment, saying that as a young sportsman, such remarks discouraged him. He said that Younis once made an insulting remark, “Where’s your T20 cricket now?” after getting removed in the 2nd Test. Akmal underlined the effects of this attitude and questioned the coaching staff’s strategy for developing young players.
