The Indian media’s claims about the Champions Trophy 2025’s financial issues were rejected by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

To clarify gossip that Pakistan cricket lost ($85 million) by hosting the Champions Trophy 2025, PCB Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Javed Murtaza and PCB Chairman’s adviser Amir Mir attended a news conference in Lahore.

“The Indian media’s propaganda and the anti-Pakistan groups who have been operating a falsehood factory must be exposed. Unfortunately, it is being spread by certain Pakistani media channels as well,” Mir said.

In contrast to the initial estimate of (Rs2 billion), Pakistan Cricket expects a profit of (Rs3 billion), as per Amir Mir. “The Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to generate (Rs3 billion) in revenue. Gate money and ground fees are the sources of this income,” he stated.

The PCB official continued by explaining that the ICC paid for all ($70 million) of the board’s costs, meaning the board didn’t use any money out of its own pockets.

“A thorough audit has not yet been carried out, and PCB did not contribute any funds for the Champions Trophy 2025; ICC fulfilled everything with a budget of ($70 million),” he further stated.

Mir declared the 8-team competition a success and disclosed that Pakistan Cricket had paid the government (Rs 4 billion) in taxes.

As its financial reserves keep growing, the PCB has paid the government (Rs4 billion) in taxes. All of the top teams participated in the Champions Trophy, which was organized with success, he noted.
