The IHC Judge adjourned the Contempt case hearing regarding Imran Khan’s jail rights.
Judge denies conflict:
On Thursday, the controversy over Imran Khan’s Jail rights calmed down. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed claims of conflict with fellow judges and postponed the contempt hearing until after the Eid holidays. Justice Ishaq Khan resumed the contempt proceedings. He clarified that he had no intention of causing embarrassment but wanted to set the record straight.

Legal procedures under scrutiny:
Justice Khan expressed his respect for the court but simultaneously questioned whether Chief Justice is permissible to pass an order without addressing objections. He, however, wants procedural transparency. That is why he raised concerns about whether legal protocols were followed while transferring the case related to Imran Khan’s prison conditions.
Judicial panel takes up jail facilities case:
Acting Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfraz Dogar, leading a three-member larger bench, heard a separate case on the same day. Adiala Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum filed a petition. The petition addressed Imran Khan’s jail facilities. The bench issued notices to all relevant petitioners and scheduled the next hearing for March 24.
During the hearing, several legal representatives attended, including Advocate General for Islamabad (AGI) Ayaz Shaukat, PTI spokesperson Niazullah Khan Niazi, and PTI lawyers Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas, Usman Riaz Gul, Ali Bukhari, Shoaib Shaheen, and Mashal Yousafzai.
Justice Khan calls for Judicial accountability:
Justice Khan wants transparency in legal procedures, so he asked whether the legal procedure was followed while transferring Imran Khan’s case. The registrar’s office objected to the application earlier and later approved it, raising his doubts. He warned that improper handling of a case by a high court judge could amount to criminal contempt.
