In a media interaction at Mazar-i-Quaid, PTI leaders talked about the ex-premier’s letters sent to the intended recipients. The PTI leaders confirmed that the intended recipients had received the letters and that they also got a response. The leaders reiterated their stance and visited Karachi to be part of the Tehreek-i-Tahaffuz-i-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP) campaign to prepare for a grand political gathering in Islamabad on February 25 and 26.

Grand meeting in Islamabad:

The opposition alliance is organizing a major political meeting in Islamabad. PTI leaders were in Karachi to invite the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) to participate. The event aims to unite opposition forces and address pressing national issues.

Imran Khan reportedly sent multiple letters to the army chief. The letters were sent with the agenda of filling the gap between the public and the army. The military confirmed that they had not received these letters yet and would not entertain such letters if received.

Controversy over the letters:

PTI didn’t reveal the entire letters. Rather, they revealed some part of them. The partial exposure to the letters increases the suspicion that these letters may also not exist. A PTI insider also confirms it. Despite these contradictions, PTI leaders insist the letters were real and achieved their purpose.

PTI Leaders address the media:

PTI leader Salman Akram Raja defended the letters at a press conference at Karachi Press Club. He dismissed claims that Imran Khan was seeking favours from the establishment. He clarified that the letters were not intended to seek political intervention. Imran Khan only asked those responsible to step aside and respect their constitutional role. The letters didn’t mention anything else.

Achakzai blames leadership for crisis:

Mahmood Khan Achakzai blamed the country’s leadership for the current crisis. He stated that Pakistan was once a developing country, but now it is not because of the insecure hands it is in. He stressed that progress is only possible by following the Constitution. He also stated that we should be united in order to make the country progress. He also added that we can only make progress through a united struggle and mutual respect for our mandates. 

Hamid Raza criticizes Government actions:

The leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council, Hamid Raza, criticized the government’s response to opposition efforts. He said that the situation has worsened to the point where even parliament cannot function,

As chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Human Rights, Raza attempted to address the November 26 “massacre.” He summoned officials to explain the incident. He claimed, “We issued notices to police officers and other officials. But in response, my staff’s homes were raided. They faced harassment.”

Military denies PTI’s claims:

The military rejected PTI’s stance on receiving and responding to the letters. It cleared that they did not receive or respond to such letters. The military’s response raises questions on PTI’s stance and asks for official acknowledgments to be believed in these letters.

Opposition gears up for Islamabad gathering:

The February 25 and 26 meeting aims to bring together various political groups despite their controversies. The opposition believes this event will serve as a platform to address political and economic challenges. They also hope to rally public support against what they see as an illegitimate government.
