Two-Day Ban Imposed on Pillion Riding

In light of Youm-e-Ali, the Karachi government has banned pillion riding in the city for 2-days “under Section 144”, according to sources.
Commissioner Karachi stated in a statement that the prohibition was put in place to preserve law and order in Sindh during Youm-e-Ali.
According to the announcement, the prohibition will go into force from the “21st to the 22nd” day of Ramadan, and those who break the law would face serious penalties.

Whereas “Journalists, women, children, and the old” are excluded from this prohibition. It is important to note that Karachi Police has secured the central gathering on Youm-e-Ali with foolproof security measures.
In this manner Javed Alam Odho, Additional IG Karachi, examined the central procession’s security plans. Furthermore (5367) police officers and other staff have been assigned to security-related tasks. At the procession route’s entrance and departure, walk-through gates have been put in place.
Additionally, members of the Special Branch and the bomb disposal unit have been sent in to search participants and onlookers.
