According to sources, a policeman in Karachi was punished for not paying for a bottle of sherbet.

Another instance of police overreach occurred when a police officer in Karachi’s Sher Shah neighborhood stole a bottle of rose sherbet from a store owner.

The shop where the incident occurred was under the “jurisdiction of Site B police station”. In the widely shared video, a police “sub-inspector” was seen stealing a bottle of rose sherbet without paying for it.

The shopkeeper said no, insisting he was simply a salesperson, but the officer continued, even showing his face after taking off his mask, saying, “It is not important, just tell the shop owner about me.”

Senior SSP Suspended Sub Inspector

On the other hand Imran Shaukat, Madadgar 15’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), suspended Sub-Inspector Javed in an answer quickly to the news.

A video of a Karachi security guard along with (3) friends attacking a street fruit vendor in front of his young daughter went viral earlier. They began to harass the vendor when he refused to take away a melon without his approval.

The frightened daughter is powerless to stop the cops from beating and verbally abusing her father. According to reports, the conflict started when the fruit vendor protested the Karachi security officer’s unlawful melon-taking.

Constable Zafar was fired as a result of the event, which caused demand from the public, and (3) other officers were suspended. The fruit vendor was approached by SSP Central Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui on Sunday.

The senior police officer personally requested information about the event, gave the street fruit vendor a flower, and invited him to his office. Zeeshan Siddiqui, SSP central, spoke at the event and gave the fruit vendor the department’s support.

“The Sindh Police are on your side. The force as a whole was not represented by this one deed. Everywhere you go, you’ll find both good and evil individuals,” he added. Additionally, he informed the vendor of the disciplinary measures being taken against the Karachi police officials involved.
