Stray Dogs In Karachi Pose Threat To Airport Safety - AAMNEWSHUB.COM

According to news, stray dogs are becoming a bigger problem in the General Aviation hangars at Karachi Airport, which poses major safety risks for continuing flight operations.

There have reportedly been multiple cases where stray dogs have almost caused accidents in the region, which is home to training planes.

Authorities recently had to cancel a flight because of safety concerns when a stray dog almost hit a taxiing aircraft. The safety issues at Jinnah Terminal are made worse by reports of stray dogs walking the main runway.

In addition to walking animals, further risks are created by trash, such as metal items, near the hangars. These obstacles frequently cause aircraft tires to rupture, resulting in (flight delays, cancellations, and millions of dollars) in losses from tire changes and other losses.

To protect the safety of travelers, crew, and aircraft operations, airport officials have been encouraged to address these urgent concerns.

A passenger aboard an aircraft reportedly recorded the whole incident when (2) stray dogs were shot dead on the runway of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi in August 2021.

Information reveals the actions taken by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to protect the airport perimeter after the presence of stray dogs was established before the takeoff of a flight from Karachi airport headed for Islamabad.

The video, which appears to have been taken from an airplane window, shows (2) stray dogs walking the runway as a group of bird shooters drives up to them.

The gunmen later shot them dead. The event was confirmed by the airport officials, who stated that it took place on the evening of 23rd of August. It is important to note that there have been several earlier alarms over an overload of trash close to the airport, which raised concerns that birds could harm the aircraft.
