Sindh ASF Action Against Drugs
At Karachi International Airport, the Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested passengers for carrying narcotics towards Jeddah.
Drug addiction is prohibited all across the world. Many countries have strict rules to combat this heinous health crime. Some countries have flexible laws on drug addiction. Beyond focusing on halting the spread of drugs, people are taking them lightly and consider it a trend in today’s up-to-date society.
Drug addiction, however, should be condemned, and people should be aware of its cons. In Pakistan, according to the United Nations report, almost 7.6 million people are drug addicts. It is also noticed that a particular form of drug, known as heroin, is seen mostly in demand by addicts.
With time, the number of drug addicts is increasing. Each year, the rate increases. The Pakistani government has made plans to alleviate the risk of drug addiction, but unfortunately, the authorities couldn’t succeed in reducing the rate.
Drug dealers export drugs all over the world. They focused on polluting the minds of youth by poisoning them with high doses of drugs. It is happening as well, as massive amounts of students have fallen into the trap of drug dealers.
The Pakistani government is trying to stop the export or import of drugs. The security forces are also on high alert and keep checking the individuals and their luggage to stop them from exporting and importing drugs.
Recently, an incident happened at Karachi International Airport. The passenger carrying the heroine was supposed to reach Jeddah. Before immigration, the Airport Security Officer checked him and his luggage. While checking, the officer found 1,060 kgs of heroin in his bag. The passenger hid the heroine in soap packaging so that no one could suspect him.
The passenger handed over the passenger to the Anti-Narcotics Force(ANF) to investigate the matter deeply. The spokesperson gave a briefing and said that the professional experts had analysed the matter, investigated the suspect, and found the person culprit. Now, the suspect is under the custody of ANF for further investigation.
