In comparison to the same period last year, Pakistan’s seafood exports increased by 8.15 % over the final nine months of the current fiscal year.

According to figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, between the July–March 2024–25 period, more than “(151,787 metric) tons of fish and fish products valued at ($322.906 million) were exported, compared to (145,671 metric_ tons worth ($289.568 million) during the same time previous year”.

In the meantime, exports of meat and meat products increased by 0.99% during the reviewed period. This is because (90,578 metric) tons of meat and meat getting ready valued at ($391.118 million) were exported, compared to (93,587 metric) tons valued at( $387.279 million) during the identical period last year”.

Exports Of Rice And Food Items Worth Also Increases

According to the report, the nation exported more than (663,980 metric) tons of Basmati rice in the previous nine months, valued at ($676.967 million), compared to (545,223 metric) tons during the same time last year, valued at ($622.347 million).

In comparison to the (4.011 million) tons of rice worth ($2.308 billion) that were shipped during that exact period last year, approximately (4.017 million) tons of rice other than basmati rice valued at ($2.080 billion) were also exported throughout the period under review.

In comparison to the same period previous year, the country’s exports of food groups increased by 1.62 % during the reviewed period.

Whereas food items worth ($5.749 billion) were shipped between July and March of 2024–2025, compared to ($5.658 billion) over the same period the previous year.

However, relative to the imports of the same period last year, food group imports into the nation fell by 2.7% over the final nine months of the current fiscal year.

According to the statistics, food commodity imports decreased from ($6.290 billion to $6.118 billion) between July and March of 2024–2025.
