Tensions Escalate As Pakistan Downs 25 Indian Drones - AAMNEWSHUB.COM

In a recent Pak-India war, Pakistan retaliated and shot down 25 Indian Drones entered illegally in Pakistan.

Pakistan neutralises wave of Indian drones:

Pakistan’s armed forces have successfully brought down 25 Israeli-made Harop drones launched by India during recent cross-border military operations. ISPR confirmed the news. According to the military’s media wing, these drones were detected across multiple regions in Pakistan and neutralised using a combination of electronic warfare systems (soft-kill) and traditional firepower (hard-kill).

India’s desperate move:

The ISPR described India’s drone attacks as a “desperate and panicked response” to Pakistan’s earlier retaliatory strikes. During those operations, Pakistan reportedly shot down five Indian fighter jets and hit several Indian military positions along the Line of Control (LoC). The ISPR further claimed that India has suffered significant military losses recently along the LoC, though specific figures were not disclosed.

Targeted cities:

Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed the downing of 12 Indian drones in a press briefing. He detailed that the drones attempted to breach Pakistani airspace on May 7 and 8. Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Karachi, Chor, Miano and Attock are the targeted cities.

In drone attacks, Pakistan dismantled drones before reaching their targets. However, one drone hit a military installation near Lahore. It thus caused minor equipment damage.

India has lost the plot:

DG-ISPR addressed and said that India has lost its temper. In its aggression, the Indian military, without any strategy, is targeting Pakistan. Thus, its abrupt steps have threatened regional stability and global peace. DG-ISPR also informed about the destruction of five Indian aircraft. He, however, stated that India has apparently lost the plot. Moreover, Pakistan is ready to combat Indian atrocities. In addition, the global community should take notice of India’s actions in deteriorating the region’s peace.

Diplomatic back channels open amid rising tensions:

Pakistan’s National Security Adviser (NSA), Lt. General Asim Malik, has reportedly established contact with his Indian counterpart, Ajit Doval. The Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan has confirmed these communications. It is hoped that these communications will be helpful in preventing the crisis. Officials familiar with the matter suggest these discussions are part of a broader effort led by global and regional powers to cool tempers on both sides.

Global players step in:

The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, contacted both the Pakistani and Indian NSAs shortly after the hostilities began. The globally recognised leaders expressed their concerns over the matter. The US Secretary of State’s involvement shows the intricacy of the situation. However, the international leaders want India and Pakistan to move towards restraint and strive to de-escalate the situation.
