The Military’s Position On The Violence On The 9th Of May Has Not Changed, According To DG ISPR
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated on Friday that the Pakistan Armed Forces position on the events of the 9th of May is plain.
Speaking at a news conference in Rawalpindi, DG ISPR stated that the May 9th events reflect the feelings of the whole country and are not simply a case for the military.
“The core of society is at risk if armed groups force their will without legal intervention,” he said.
According to a Pakistan Army spokeswoman, several cases from the 9th of May were moved to military tribunals in 2023 in response to orders from the judiciary. Military tribunals used the law to convict those responsible for the 9th of May assaults.
Actions Taken Against Terrorists
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, DG ISPR, stated that (925) terrorists were killed by the Pakistani army in 2024. “The armed forces have made huge sacrifices in Pakistan’s ongoing and difficult war against terrorism.”
According to him, up to (59,775) effective operations were carried out around the country this year, resulting in the capture of hundreds of terrorists and the neutralization of (925) of them, notably (73) prominent targets.
A sizable stock of guns and ammunition belonging to terrorist organizations was also taken by security forces. The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) underlined Pakistan’s troops’ constant commitment to combating terrorism and preserving national security.
Terrorists Working On Afghan Territory
Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of ISPR, stated that terrorist groups that operate from Afghan territory, such as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” are engaged in acts against Pakistan.
Pakistan is being intentionally targeted by Afghani networks, but the military is steadfastly protecting the country and its borders, he continued.
According to Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, efforts are being made to prevent energy theft and smuggling in accordance with a direction from the administration. He claimed that despite Pakistan’s sincere efforts to bring about peace in Afghanistan, nothing changed.
“We broke the back of Khawarij elements in 2021,” the DG ISPR said, recalling the victory over extremist organizations in 2021.
Further DG ISPR said, “Who demanded on talking and dealing with them in 2021?” in reference to previous rulings that allowed extremists to reorganize.
He further criticized the fact that Pakistan is currently bearing the costs of these policies, especially in KP.
Well-Aware Of India’s Danger On The Eastern Front
Pakistan is well aware of the danger presented by Indian assault on the eastern front, according to the DG ISPR. He claimed that India has violated (25) ceasefires and fired (525) times along the Line of Control (LoC) this year alone.
Whereas India has also carried out a number of false flag operations to deflect attention from its internal problems, according to the DG ISPR.
He claimed that RAW, an Indian intelligence organization, has been actively engaged in spreading false information about Pakistan. The DG ISPR criticized the continued abuses of human rights in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that unlawful activities led to the killing of defenseless young Kashmiris.
The ruling on Kashmir’s special status by the Indian Supreme Court was found to be against international legal standards.
He went on to say, “Kashmiris need international intervention for their right to independence.””Pakistan’s military standing is willing to make any compromise for the country’s defense,” the DG ISPR underlined. Furthermore, during natural disasters, the military still plays a crucial part in disaster relief and administration.
