25 Found Responsible By military Courts Of Involvement In Violence On 9th May According to ISPR
On Saturday 21st of December, 2024,After reviewing all the evidence and going through the proper legal procedure, the Military Courts found (25) individuals guilty of the 9th ay violence, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) declared.
Those charged face a maximum sentence of ten years in jail. The ISPR stated that (25) accused people had received sentences from the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) in the first phase.
After the Supreme Court’s (SC) Constitutional Bench provisionally permitted military tribunals to do so in (85) cases the findings were made public.
Necessity of Controlling
In addition to shocking the country, the ISPR’s statement stated that “these blatant acts of violence highlighted the necessity of controlling this wrong attempt of political terrorism to enact its own perverted will through violence and force.”
“Justice will be done when the mastermind and planners are held accountable.”
The military’s propaganda wing described the sentencing as a significant step toward bringing justice to the country and insisted that justice would be fully served if the 9th May masterminds and planners are held accountable in accordance with the law and the constitution.
Important Reminder
According to the ISPR, “the statements are an important reminder to all those who are taken advantage of by special interests as well as a warning to those who fall target to political propaganda and dangerous liars”.
Moreover the ISPR also stated that by ensuring justice in the 9th May cases, the violent, misguided politics will be destroyed.
Following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on 9th May, 2023, armed conflicts started throughout Pakistan.
The arrest of their chairman angered party activists, who conducted rallies in both big and distant cities. To maintain peace and order, the military forces were called in by (Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan).
During the rallies, PTI workers attacked Army posts, including the Corps Commander’s home in Lahore. It is important to note that in every prosecution involving the 9th May riots, the PTI founder is listed as the primary culprit.
