Karachi Traffic Accidents Claim 2 Lives, Injure 3
According to cited police and rescue sources, a number of tragic traffic incidents in Karachi within a brief period of time resulted in at least (1) death and (3) injuries.
While (2) motorcycle riders lost their lives in a traffic accident on Shaheed-Millat Road after being struck by a fast-moving vehicle. Traffic police said that the motorcyclists lost control and fell into the road after being hit by the fast automobile.
The motorcyclists were run over by a tanker truck that was pursuing the vehicle and was unable to slow down in time. A couple died when the tanker came to a stop after dragging the motorbike and its passengers for a while. Another man who was hurt in the event is being sent to a hospital close by to receive medical care.
Police Arrested Tanker Driver
The tanker driver has been arrested by the police. Two ladies were hurt after (2) cars crashed on Shahrah-e-Faisal separately. Rescue teams raced to the location to offer medical support.
It should be mentioned that emergency services revealed that there were about (9,000) traffic incidents in Karachi in 2024, resulting in (771) dead and (8,174) injuries.
Whereas road accidents in Karachi resulted in (94) fatalities and (734) injuries in January 2024, (57) fatalities and (720) injuries in February, (49) fatalities and (521) injuries in March, and (64) fatalities and (490) injuries in April.
In addition, the port city recorded (48) fatalities and (464) injuries in May, compared to (73) fatalities and (649) injuries in June.
Furthermore, there were (35) the people of Karachi dead and (627) wounded in July. According to the rescue services, there were (45) fatalities and (521) injuries in August, (70) fatalities and (781) injuries in September, and (66) fatalities and (980) injuries in October 2024.
In November, there were (90) fatalities and (989) injuries in Karachi; thus far in December, there have been (80) fatalities and (700) injuries in Karachi traffic incidents.
According to the research, there were an average of (25) accidents per day, which resulted in the deaths of (2 to 3) individuals every day.
