Finance Minister Vows Reform Continuity In Meeting With IMF MD

On Tuesday 22nd of April 2025 Muhammad Aurangzeb, the finance minister, underlined the government of Pakistan’s resolve to keep the reform momentum going on.
He commended the IMF team for obtaining a Staff-Level Agreement on the Initial Review regarding the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and an update under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) throughout his meeting with IMF Managing Director (MD) Ms. Kristalina Georgieva in Washington, D.C.
Finance Minister Thanked The World Bank
The Finance Minister thanked the World Bank for its continued support in developing a comprehensive strategy for execution and strategy for action to bring into effect the Country Partnership Framework (CPF) and improve overall efficiency during his meeting with Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group.

Muhammad Aurangzeb focused “current changes in debt management, state-owned companies (SOEs), energy, taxation, privatization, and pensions”.
At a US-Pakistan Business Council luncheon held at the US Chamber of Commerce, he underlined the value of sectoral growth, market diversity, and regional commerce.
