According to sources on Friday 4th of March 2025, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded a noteworthy (41%) rise in income collection during the 1st 9-months of the fiscal year currently in effect, 2024-25, as compared to the identical period the previous year.

In comparison to the same period a year ago, when it received “Rs 26.58 billion”, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has collected “Rs 37.37 billion”, a significant rise of “Rs 10.79 billion”.

A spokesman for the KPRA added in a statement that the organization had received “Rs 8.57 billion” from the Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC) and “Rs 28.8 billion” from the “sales tax on services”.

KPRA Set A Goal

Sales tax on services brought in “Rs 22.8 billion” the year before, while the Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC) brought in “Rs 3.74 billion”. This represents a “26% increase in sales tax on services and a 129% increase in Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC)”.

Whereas for the current fiscal year, the KPRA has designated a goal of “Rs 47 billion”.

The province’s efforts to enhance its financial management and boost its own-source income are demonstrated by this remarkable rise in revenue collection, the statement continued.

According to a report, Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, had earlier written to President Asif Ali Zardari requesting that he call a meeting of the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.

“Ali Amin Gandapur underlined in the letter how the 25th Amendment, which raised the province’s population by 5.7 million, led to the 2018 combination of tribal districts into Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.”

Further Gandapur pointed out that the development process, security, and stability are all impacted since such a huge population is not getting its fair portion of the National Finance Commission (NFC) reward.

KP chief minister said that it is illegal and against the commits given to the tribal districts for the federal government to continue to receive monies intended for tribal territories instead of the provincial government.
