Punjab Cabinet has resolved to implement ‘Ration Card Scheme’ to offer assistance to 1.5-million laborers and employees across the state.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz attended a meeting in Lahore where the decision was made. Under the program, workers would receive 10,000 rupees in support each month.

Additionally, the Cabinet authorized a change to the Food Grains Licensing Control Order, 1957, requiring flour mills to purchase 25% of the wheat.

Further, it approved changes to the Punjab Consumer Protection Act of 2005 that would give Additional Session Judges Consumer Court authority.

Punjab’s Bright Future

The first-ever SMART Environment Protection Force in Pakistan was formally introduced earlier by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This innovative program aims to address environmental concerns by utilizing technology and creativity.

Using the social media site “X,” Maryam Nawaz announced the launch on 21st of April 2025, calling it a “a turning point in Punjab’s journey toward natural improvement.”

Modern equipment, such as “mobile labs, real-time Air Quality Index (AQI) monitors, and drone shadowing, strengthens the SMART Environment Protection Force”.

These developments are intended to strengthen intelligent eco-defenders and ensure Punjab has a cleaner, brighter future. Critical industries including “industry, water, plastic, agriculture, transportation, and gasoline” are regulated by committed and skilled workers. The force is committed to guaranteeing timely reactions, effective execution, and continuous air quality improvement.
