Pakistan Condemns Israeli Airstrikes In Syria At UN Forum

Pakistan spoke at the United Nations and raised concerns over Israel’s airstrikes in Syria. Pakistan called it an International law violation.
Pakistan’s strong message to the UN:
Pakistan raised its voice in the United Nations and declared Israel’s air strikes on Syria as an attempt to deteriorate peace and political stability in the region. According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Ambassador Asim strongly condemned Israel’s actions and urged the global community to take notice.
Israel increases attacks in Syria:
Israel intensified its air raids across Syria. It attacked air bases, urban areas near Damascus, and several spots in the southwest. Israeli officials said the purpose of the strikes was to warn Syria’s new leadership. Israel claimed that Turkiye was attempting to turn Syria into a protectorate. These actions have triggered concerns about the armed groups that replaced Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December. Israeli authorities have labelled these groups as threats.

Violation of agreements and International law:
Ambassador Asim said that Israel’s attack was a clear violation of International law. He, however, said, “We are seeing open declarations of occupation and constant military aggression by Israel.” Pakistan reiterated that Israel’s attack on Syria sparked regional conflict.
Civilians caught in the crossfire:
Pakistan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of human lives due to Israel’s attacks. According to Ambassador Asim, Israel’s bombing campaigns have damaged civilian buildings and infrastructure and caused numerous civilian casualties. Pakistan, beware that 16 million Syrians were in need of humanitarian aid. Any further violence worsens the situation. He urged the UNSC to stop these attacks and stressed that the world body must not allow illegal military operations to become a norm.
Protecting Syria’s sovereignty:
Pakistan emphasized that Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be protected. Ambassador Asim highlighted that Israel’s continued occupation of the Golan Heights is illegal under international law and must end.
Regional talks between Turkey and Israel:
According to Reuters, Israeli and Turkish officials held talks in Azerbaijan to prevent accidental clashes in Syria. The talks are part of an effort to set up a communication channel between the two regional powers to avoid misunderstandings and unintended conflict. A Turkish official noted that “efforts will continue to build this system,” although no timeline was provided.
A call for International responsibility:
Pakistan stands on its stance and warns the world that Israel should be accountable for its brutality and violations against International laws. Pakistan urged for diplomatic solutions instead of military actions.
