After the attack on Niger’s mosque, the Nigerian government announces three days of mourning. As per reports, the ISGC carried out the attack, due to which 44 people lost their lives and 13 got injured. However, the attack occurred in Kokorou.
Attack on worshippers during prayer:
When people were gathered at the mosque to offer prayer, the terrorist group attacked the mosque. As per Niger’s interior ministry, the perpetrators surrounded the mosque and started massacres. The militants also set fire to a local market and nearby homes.
Government vows to hunt down perpetrators:
The Nigerian government has strongly condemned the attack. Authorities have vowed to track down the attackers and bring them to justice. Security forces are already working to identify and pursue those responsible. The government has promised that such acts of terrorism will not go unpunished.
