Sources said that another motorcyclist died in a traffic accident, increasing the number of fatalities in Karachi to (107) so far this year.

Details indicate that Saifullah, a (45-year-old) biker, was tragically knocked over by a dumper in the Memon Goth region in the most recent incident.

According to the rescue service, there has been a startling increase in road accidents in Karachi, with (107) fatalities in the first (45) days of 2025 alone. There are (78 )males, (14) women, (11) children, and (4) girls among the victims.

Several Injured

In addition to the deaths, roughly (1493) persons were hurt in these incidents, according to a study by the Chhipa Welfare Association. There are (18) girls, (42) children, (193) women, and (6290) males among the injured.

According to the traffic police, big vehicles such as oil tankers, trucks, and dumpers were involved in the majority of accidents.

In 2025, (32) incidents with high traffic occurred in January and the first 6-days of February. The traffic police have responded to the increasing number of accidents by filing (34,655) challans and making (490) arrests. (532) vehicle fitness certifications were also suspended.

A 4-person committee has been established to look into the reasons behind crashes and recommend ways to make the roads safer. The committee will examine the licenses of the drivers and the fitness certifications of water tankers and oil tanker dumpers.

In the last week, unidentified individuals have set fire to a number of cargo cars and water tankers in Karachi’s “Landhi, Korangi, Al-Karam, and Surjani Town” regions in reaction to traffic accidents.

While (10) people have been arrested by police in connection with numerous car burning events. Additionally, the Dumper and Oil Tankers Association protested the burning of cars by unidentified individuals by holding a sit-in along the National Highway.
