Karachi Markets Shut Today In Solidarity With Gaza

According to sources on Monday 7th of April 2025, Karachi markets would stay closed today in protest and show support for the Gazan people.
The city’s biggest marketplaces, such as “
Sarafa Bazaar, Medicine Market, Jodia Bazaar, and other wholesale markets”, would not be open today, according to trade representatives.
All Big And Small markets Are Closed
As a sign of solidarity, “Rizwan Irfan, president of the Karachi Electronic Dealers Association, asked all shopkeepers to shut down their establishments. Jamil Paracha, the leader of Karachi Tajir Ittehad, also underlined that the business sector in Karachi supports the Gazan people”.

Further “markets at the Sarafa Bazaar, Old City Area, and Mithadar will not be open today”, according to trade leader Shakir Fancy.
Wholesale markets would also be closed in protest of Israel’s cruel actions and crimes in Gaza, he continued. Abdul Rauf Ibrahim said that Jodia Bazaar, the biggest wholesale market in the nation, would be closed for the day.
The Aram Bagh Traders Association has also said that it fully supports the strike that the traders of Karachi have called for.
Additionally, Jodia Bazaar General Secretary Aslam Polani stated that all local drug marketplaces will remain closed.
