New Gas And Oil Reserves Discovered In Spinwam, Waziristan

According to a report, fresh reserves of petroleum and natural gas have been found in the Spinwam region of North Waziristan, marking yet another significant victory for Pakistan.
The “Spinwam-1 well has produced significant oil and gas reserves, increasing the nation’s hydrocarbon resources”, explains Mari Energies, the Waziristan Block operator.
Approximately “310 barrels of crude oil per day (bbl/d) and 70-million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas have been found in the most recent find”. This discovery complements the reserves already found in the same well from 3-additional formations.

While the earlier finds were the “Samansk Formation (12.96 MMSCFD of gas and 20 bbl/d of crude oil), the Kawag Formation (20.48 MMSCFD of gas and 117 bbl/d of crude oil), and the Hangu Formation (23.85 MMSCFD of gas and 122 bbl/d of crude oil).”
With a (55%) ownership, Mari Energies runs the Waziristan Block, whereas Orient Petroleum and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) own (35% and 10%) of the company, correspondingly.
Meanwhile the “Spinwam-1 Well” in the Karghar Formation in North Waziristan yielded additional oil and gas reserves, which Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) disclosed in March.
Spinwam-1 Well’s 2nd Successful Finding
A representative for the firm claims that the well produces “117 barrels of oil and 20.48 MMCFD” of gas daily. This is the “Spinwam-1” well’s 2nd successful finding.
The nation’s energy demands were met in part by the finding, which helped close the gap between supply and demand. Mari Petroleum Company has already discovered additional gas reserves from 5-wells in Sindh in July 2024.-
An extra “3-million metric standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD)” of gas was tested, produced, and transmitted by the corporation. Following the submission of complete disclosures to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, this development was made public.
Mari Petroleum reports that Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) is currently receiving natural gas collected from the Ghazij Gas Field.
Mari Petroleum Company declared on the first of July that additional gas reserves have been found in Sindh. Following the discovery of the gas reservoir in Sindh, the petroleum firm sent a letter to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
