Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz told the media that her government to allot houses to the people who do not have their own houses, is a significant step to be remembered in history.
She highlighted that 2.2 million people are deprived of their own homes in Punjab. Moreover, she promised to give 100,000 houses within a year on a merit basis.

In Kala Shah Kaku, Maryam Nawaz was addressing in the inauguration ceremony of Zahra Homes. She said that her government had given 100 respectable and deserving families their own homes. She also added that the step of allotting houses to the government had been taken after the 2-and-a-half-month struggle of working in Maskan Ravi by the Ravi Urban Development Authority( RUDA) and the housing ministry.

Maryam Nawaz also talked about the loaning scheme on the houses. She said that interest free loans will be given to those who own 1 to 10 marla land to construct houses. The Chief Minister informed that Rs 1.5 million will be given to the people to construct the houses. She said that this loaning scheme will not burdanise the house owners as they only need to pay 14000 rupees per month for 7 years.

She also stated that the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar programme is becoming functional within months. Moreover, in the 37 districts of Punjab, thousands of houses are under construction. She also affirms that among these houses, several houses have reached the completion stage.

Maryam Nawaz, however, said that there would be a proper check and balance in this scheme. Those who fit the merit criterion could get the loans and enrol in the Apni Chat, Apna Ghar scheme. She also ensured that those who get the houses in Zahra Homes do not have to pay tension as the houses will be theirs for life. In addition, she praised the scheme and said that the Apni Chat, Apna Ghar scheme is so far the best thing that has ever happened in history.

She made a promise that in the next few months, the construction of more new houses would be completed. She said that the scheme would be beneficial for middle-class people who wish to have their own houses. She said that people will get free 3 marla plots to build their houses on within the affordable loan prices.

She praised Punjab people who have always stood in support of Nawaz Sharif’s schemes. She also talked about the other schemes of Nawaz Sharif. Like Kisan and Livestock cards through which farmers are getting benefits. Free medicines facility to be delivered at the doorstep of the ill persons and free of cost medical tests.

She added that Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital has all the modern facilities through which patients are treated fairly. Under a heart surgery programme, children are treated free of cost. Thirty thousand children are enjoying the Honhaar Scholarship Programme. She thanked the Punjab people for trusting PMLN for all their needs and making the schemes fruitful in the best possible way.

She also thanked the Allah Almighty for His blessings on the country and the current government. She said that no government could be successful in reducing inflation from 38 per cent to six per cent. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Almighty Allah, the price of bread has been reduced from Rs 30 to 12. Indeed, it is a great blessing!
