12 Heavy Trucks Seized During Karachi Crackdown On Highways

On Friday 11th of April 2025 following a number of collisions, the Karachi traffic police conducted a raid and captured 12-big trucks.
According to details it was discovered that the cars were not suitable for the roads in Karachi. The Sindh Transport Department’s secretary took note of the issue and wrote letters to the excise secretaries of “Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan” suggesting that the registration of “12” unsuitable cars that had been captured be canceled.
After being moved to the impound yard, the seized cars were found to be out-of-date, unsuitable, and in very bad shape. The letter claims that the Motor Vehicle Inspector conducted checks and looked at 70-automobiles in all.

Furthermore “12” of the cars were found to be in unsuitable and worsening condition by the report’s conclusion. These cars are unsafe and inappropriate for usage on public roadways, the letter added.
Authorities have suggested that these cars’ registrations be taken away in accordance with “Section-35” of the Motor cars Ordinance 1965. After a motorcycle was crushed by heavy traffic in North Karachi, there were angry demonstrations in Karachi and around “11-dumpers and tankers were set on fire”. According to information, “over 11 heavy vehicles, such as trucks and dumpers, were set on fire in various parts of Karachi after an accident between a speeding dumper truck and a motorcycle in the Nagan Chowrangi surrounding area.
