Authorities have completed plans for iftar at the Prophet’s (P.B.U.H). Mosque in Madinah as the holy month of Ramadan draws near, and they have also introduced new rules for meal suppliers.

In order to provide worshipers more options for their iftar meals, companies offering services will be permitted to serve (2) extra food items this year in addition to the regular menu, as reported by Gulf News.

Iftar Meals Packages

According to the General Authority for Care of the Two Holy Mosques, “dates, bread, yogurt, wrapped tissues, and water” will remain part of the compulsory iftar meal. But today, Madinah meal suppliers may include things like filled “dates, maamoul, cream, cupcakes, pies, and nuts”.

The authorities have directed Madinah’s catering businesses to update their records and secure the required licenses in order to preserve the caliber of their services.

Iftar meals shall only be served by recognized businesses who have shown expertise in serving travelers performing the Hajj and Umrah.

Strict hygienic and logistical standards must also be maintained by businesses, such as having three or more licensed refrigerated cars, packaging facilities that are at least 600-square meters in size, and a spotless 2-year record.

To guarantee the efficient distribution and delivery of iftar meals, these businesses also need to work closely with approved officials at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

In order to provide an ideal atmosphere for individuals breaking their fast at this sanctified location, authorities are dedicated to maintaining the highest demands for food quality and service.

In an attempt to curb “corruption” and the public distribution of “subpar” items, the Pakistani government, led by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif, had earlier declared that Utility Stores would not be included in this year’s Ramadan Relief Package.

“As the Holy Ramadan approaches, I have requested that the Ministry of National Food Security implement a Ramadan Package with no Utility Stores in order to avoid corruption and the sale of subpar material,” PM Shehbaz stated in a speech to the federal cabinet. A long time ago, I inquired as to whether this could not continue with the utility retailers.

While the prime minister told the cabinet members that the Utility Stores’ execution of the Ramadan Relief Package the year before had drawn multiple objections to the government. “Therefore, the government came up with a method to provide the option without the Utility Stores,” he continued.
