The UN said that almost (900) vehicles delivering humanitarian supplies entered Gaza on Monday 20th of January, surpassing the daily goal specified in the truce deal among Israel and Hamas.

According to the UN’s humanitarian office (OCHA), “Humanitarian aid is still entering the Gaza Strip as part of a planned effort to offer more support to survivors.”

However (915) trucks entered Gaza today, based on information obtained from interactions with Israeli officials and the ceasefire agreement’s trustees.

While the United Nations strongly opposes barriers that limit the delivery and movement of supplies into the destroyed Palestinian territory during the Gaza crisis.

A total of (630) trucks crossed Gaza on Sunday 18th of January, the day the truce was implemented.

A (42) day interim truce among Israel and Hamas is intended to allow for an inflow of much needed supplies to reach Gaza following (15) months of conflict. The ceasefire deal provides that (600) vehicles must enter Gaza daily.

Meanwhile Pope Francis praised mediators and demanded a surge in humanitarian supplies and the return of prisoners in Gaza on Sunday, calling for a truce to be “without delay respected.”

Shortly after the ceasefire among Israel and Hamas was established, the Argentine pope declared, “I show thankfulness to all the intermediaries.”

“Thanks to everyone who helped achieve this significant result. He expressed his hope that all of the hostages would be allowed to return home and reunite with their loved ones, as agreed upon, and that it would be promptly honored by the parties.

“They and their families are in my thoughts and prayers. Pope Francis added, “I especially hope that emergency supplies will reach everyone of Gaza, who suffer from so many immediate requirements, greater speedily.”
