Saif Ali Khan Attack Sparks Concerns Over Mumbai’s Safety

On Thursday night, Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital as he got injured in a fight with the suspect involved in the attack at his residence.
In the viral photo and footage, a young man is seen wearing a T-shirt and jeans carrying a backpack along with him. It is suspected that this man hit Saif Ali Khan at his residence in Bandra. According to the report, the suspect reached the residence by crossing the wall and the rear staircase and entering the compound area. The video footage shows him coming down the stairs and looking directly into the camera.
The house help of Saif Ali Khan noticed this suspect in the house. She immediately informed Khan about him. Khan caught the suspect and tried to fight him off. Unfortunately, the suspect injured him and stabbed him six times. Khan got injuries on his hand, neck and spine. Two other housemates also got injured. However, Khan got severe injuries and was taken to hospital immediately.
The suspect lodged a knife into his spine. Khan was sent to Lilavati Hospital, where he had immediate surgery.

According to the Doctors of the hospital, Saif Ali Khan came to the hospital around 2 in the morning. It was said that he got injured in an assault by a stranger. They also said that he got injuries in his thoracic spinal cord due to the knife lodged in his spine. However, the doctors removed the knife immediately from his spine. The surgical team also treated the wounds. Now, Saif is out of danger.
The police, however, filed a case against the suspect under theft and attack cases. Almost 8 teams have been formed to investigate the case. Mumbai Police Crime Branch is also working on this case.
After the recent attack on Saif Ali Khan at his residence, a gunshot outside Salman Khan’s residence and the targeted killing of the former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui raised fingers at the security system of the Mumbai police. People are questioning whether Mumbai, especially Bandra, is a safe place or not.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, however, said that it is not right to declare Mumbai an unsafe place to live in with this unfortunate incident. He expressed his concern over the matter and made a promise to maintain peace in Mumbai and punish the culprits involved in such crimes.
The other political leaders also raised questions about the situation of law and order in Mumbai. They said if public figures are unsafe in this state, then what about the common man’s security? However, the matter has become serious and a black mark on the government’s policies regarding people’s safety.
