Key authorities, such as (Secretary of Religious Affairs Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi and Chairman HOAP Nasir Khan), attended a crucial meeting on private Hajj setups, which was taken over by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, according to sources.

Reports state that the discussion went into great detail about issues pertaining to private Hajj operations and reached agreements by majority. Bookings for private pilgrim groups will start on January 10th, it was agreed. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi stressed the need to follow both Pakistani and Saudi Arabian laws.

Deadline For Submission Hajj Applications Extended

In order to reach the required quota, the government previously extended the deadline for Hajj form submissions a 3rd time; though, by the end of the extra period, simply (82,000) applications had been received.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan announced that all applicants had been accepted, but is currently planning to fill the remaining (7,000) quota positions. They are reportedly thinking about either reopening the application process or giving the remaining quota to private Hajj operators.

In the month of December 2024, the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan gave a deadline for those who wanted to perform the Hajj 2025.The government has declared that applications for the Hajj 2025 will be processed at banks nationwide till 17th of December.

Meanwhile, a “first come, first served” policy will govern the processing of all applications submitted by the 17th of December. The 2nd installment of Hajj 2025 dues must be paid at certain banks between the 19th and the 27th of December, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Smartphone users should download the “Pak Hajj” application in order to receive updates. In November 2024, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) instructed (15) specified banks to maintain their relevant branches open on Sundays nationwide in order to make it easier for prospective pilgrims to deposit applications. According to a statement, the central bank gave the instructions in response to a request from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to make it easier for prospective pilgrims to deposit their Hajj applications and payment for the 2025 Hajj.
