India alleged Pakistan targeted Sikh’s holy site, “Golden Temple.” However, Pakistan’s Foreign Office denied the allegation.

Pakistan pushes back on Indian accusations:

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has firmly rejected India’s accusation that Islamabad attempted to attack the Golden Temple in Amritsar. The Golden Temple is a sacred site for the Sikh community. Indian military and media false claims increase the tension between Pakistan and India. Pakistani officials declared these accusations baseless. India made these false accusations to create unrest by invoking religious sensitivities.

The controversial claim:

Indian media outlets and military sources claimed that Pakistan had attempted to launch an attack on the Golden Temple. According to The Hindu, Indian forces allegedly “thwarted” this attempt. The report also stated that security at the temple had been increased. Weapons were placed on site to guard against potential threats from Pakistan. An unnamed Indian army official told ANI that Pakistani forces were trying to cause “confusion and chaos” by targeting civilian populations and religious sites.

Pakistan’s clear rebuttal:

Pakistan’s FO spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, “categorically rejected” the idea that it would ever target the Golden Temple or any place of worship. He said, “We hold religious sites in the highest regard. The idea that Pakistan would attack the Golden Temple is not only false but deeply offensive to our values.”

A record of religious respect:

The Foreign Office highlighted that Pakistan welcomes minorities. He talked about the country’s role in providing visa-free access to thousands of Sikh pilgrims to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. Khan emphasised that Pakistan is a “proud custodian” of Sikh heritage and continues to foster religious harmony. He said, “In this context, the claims made by Indian officials are not only factually incorrect but also go against the spirit of interfaith respect and peace.”

Turning the spotlight on India:

The Foreign Office revealed that the Indian military targeted worship places in Pakistan while Indian media accused Pakistan of assault on the Sikh religious site.  Khan stated, “These allegations are a smokescreen to distract from what India did just days ago.” According to Pakistani officials, India’s actions were not just aggressive but crossed a moral line by endangering religious sites and civilian safety.

Debunking the nuclear narrative:

Indian media claimed that Pakistan had deployed nuclear-capable Shaheen missiles during the recent conflict. However, Pakistan quickly called out these reports as false. The Foreign Office noted that even the Indian army had to delete a video promoting this narrative after realising it was unverified. Khan stated that Indian media is spreading misinformation without any evidence.
