NA Standing Committee Summons IG Sindh Over Mustafa Amir’s Murder

According to sources, Mustafa Amir’s murder in Karachi just recently has drawn the attention of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior.
The IG of Sindh has received a notice from the committee requesting that he come before them on Friday, the 28th of February, 2025. According to the notification, the IG Sindh and other related security officers are expected to provide case specifics, including facts concerning Armaghan and the narcotics trade.
In compliance with the Sindh High Court’s orders, the Sindh Home Department had already suspended the “judge’s administrative authority at Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) 1 in the Mustafa Amir murder case”.
Minister Requests Intervention From The Court
This action is in response to the criticism over Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) the first decision to deny remand to Armaghan, the primary suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case. The Sindh Interior Minister responded by formally writing to the SHC (Sindh High Court) about the matter.

According to the high court’s directives, the judge at “ATC 3” now has the administrative authority of the “ATC 1” judge.
On the other side police previously presented (2) suspects in the murder case of Mustafa Amir before a magistrate’s court. Sheeraz and Armaghan were brought before the Judicial Magistrate South court by the police. The court asked the investigating officer, “Did you send notices to defense attorneys?”
The suspect’s identification parade could not take place because of the I/O’s poor performance, the magistrate said. Section “164” prohibited recording the witnesses’ testimony. The court ordered the suspects to be shown again tomorrow (Thursday) and sent notifications to the suspect attorneys. The (2) servants of principal accused Armaghan were to have their statements recorded under section “164”, the investigating officer had said.
On the 6th of January Mustafa Amir was captured and claimed to have been killed by his buddies at Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA). In the Hub region of Balochistan, the police claim that the youth’s companions burned his body after stuffing it in the trunk of his vehicle.
