The hospital’s management is working quickly to improve patient safety and stop such incidents from happening again.
CM Punjab Are Not Satisfy
Following plenty of complaints from “patients and their attendants”, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz earlier took strong action during an unexpected visit to the Mayo Hospital in Lahore, suspending the Medical Superintendent (MS).
The Chief Minister responded severely to the complaints, which exposed serious flaws in the hospital’s management.
“You don’t even know what’s happening with the patients,” Maryam Nawaz said, expressing her dissatisfaction and casting doubt on the MS’s abilities. “You were appointed here by whom? Thank God I’m not getting you arrested.”
Moreover, she also criticized the hospital’s terrible condition, pointing out that “although patients come with the promise of receiving treatment, the management is unaware of the circumstances in the wards”. In order to address the hospital’s structural problems and guarantee improved accountability and management going forward, this visit and decision were viewed as a first step. Other public healthcare facilities were likewise motivated by the occurrence to raise their operating standards and give patient care first priority.
