The former Prime Minister Imran has been imprisoned in Adiala Jail since January 13. He has been imprisoned for almost one and a half years. Imran Khan has been found guilty in many corruption cases. His leadership could not succeed in bringing revolution to the country. One after the other, he fell into the cases made against him. He was not successful in providing enough evidence to the court in the concerned cases. That is why he faced punishment and is still facing imprisonment.
One of those cases was the adjustment of £190m by the UK’s National Crime Agency into the Pakistani Government. The money was intended for constructing an educational institute. Despite giving money for the construction of the educational sector, Imran and his wife purchased land worth billions of rupees.

The hearing regarding the cases was recorded on December 18. It was decided to announce its verdict on December 23. But the court adjourned the verdict till January 6. The decision to adjourn the verdict was made due to the indication of PTI and the Government’s talk of exchange on a mutual ground.
However, the verdict was again postponed till January 13. Today was the decision day for the much anticipated corruption case. But again, the verdict was postponed. The reason given by the Judges was no longer new. The Judges postponed the verdict due to the absence of the accused and their legal representatives.
The judge, however, said that he had been in the court from 8:30 am. He asked for the accused, but Imran and Bushra failed to show up. Everyone was there, including NAB’s team, media and court staff, but the accused and their representatives were not present. That is why the court adjourned the verdict till January 17.
NAB gave 15 opportunities to the accused to complete their statements under Section 342. But the defence could not do it. The defence team failed to present witnesses in the court. However, the Judge declared the other 6 accused of this case as “Proclaimed Offenders” who fled away to other countries just to escape from the investigation.
