The Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) ban has been formally taken away by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) suggested constitutional revisions, which the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Congress completely supported, leading to this outcome.
After the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Congress approved the updated constitution, which complies with International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) governance regulations, the suspension was removed on the second of March 2025, as per a statement issued by International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

On the sixth of February 2025, the suspension was first put into place when the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Congress refused to adopt the proposed constitutional changes. The suspension resulted from the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) inability to change its constitution, namely the provisions referring to the election process.
These modifications were pushed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) , but they were rejected by the newly elected Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Congress. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) was able to lift the ban, nevertheless, following more discussions and the modifications’ eventual approval on the 27th of February. This was not the first suspension the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has experienced. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) issued a suspension in April 2021 for 3rd party meddling; however, once the Pakistan Football Federation’s (PFF) Normalization Committee took back control of its facilities and money, the restriction was removed in June 2022.
