Pakistan Celebrates Youm-e-Tashakkur Nationwide

On Friday 16th of May 2025 to honor the Armed Forces and the people for their success in Operation Bunanu-um-Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq against Indian invasion, Youm-e-Tashakkur is being marked today.
“The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and specific blessings at mosques.”
“The day was celebrated with a 21-gun salute in regional capitals and a 31-gun salute in the federal capital following Fajar Prayer.”

Additionally, Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum in Karachi and the national poet Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal’s tomb in Lahore also had change of guard rituals this morning.
To honor the martyrs of “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos”, special gatherings will be conducted with their families. Pakistan Monument in Islamabad will host the principal Youm-e-Tashakkur event.
In addition to the “Chief of Army Staff and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will be the ceremony’s main guest”.
A truce between India and Pakistan has been extended till May 18, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The announcement was made during a hotline conversation between the two countries’ Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs).
