Iran’s Economy Minister Impeached Amid Rising Inflation And Currency Decline

Iran’s economy Minister Abdul Naser Hamati has been impeached after a parliamentary vote removed him from Office lawmaker cited Rising inflation and the continued devaluation of the Iranian real as key reasons for his dismissal.
Hamati, a former Central Bank governor was removed just 6 months after president massud Pan’s government took office. Iran’s currency has sharply declined now trading at nearly 950,000 real to the US dollar causing inflation to rise and increasing public frustration ahead of the nao’s New Year.

President Pan defended Haati, arguing that Iran is facing an economic crisis due to external pressures including sanctions and Regional instability. However Hardline lawmakers accused the minister of mismanaging the economy and deliberately weakening the currency to cover budget deficits.
Despite hma’s removal he may continue to serve in the government as an adviser to the president, a common practice for impeached officials.
Meanwhile some lawmakers are also pushing to remove Muhammad Jawad zarif from his role as a strategic adviser to the president with Iran facing economic challenges and energy crisis and tensions over its nuclear program concerns over further instability remain high.
