Zelensky Stands Firm On Ukraine-Russia War In Meeting With Trump

• Trump asked for a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine. He asked Putin to keep his words of cease-fire.
• Despite Trump’s continuous pressure on Zelensky to cease fire, Zelensky stood firm and refused Trump’s proposals.
• The European allies showed support for Ukraine and offered their full support to Zelensky in combating Russia.

Trump-Zelensky’s relationship:

On Friday, while giving an interview to Fox News, Zelensky was asked about the relationship with Trump. In a conference conducted at the White House earlier, Trump shouted at Volodymyr Zelensky and disrespected him in front of the media. The interviewer asked Zelensky whether Trump and his relationship could be good. Upon this question, Zelensky replied, “Of course.” It could be possible that Zelensky and Trump are on the same page.

Zelensky, however, added that the US and Ukraine’s relations are not merely bound by the President’s relation with each other. However, the US-Ukraine relationship is more than the President’s relationship. He also said that Ukraine needs the assistance of the US to combat the powerful and much bigger Russian military. It will be a difficult task to fight against Russia without US help.

Trump boiled over Zelensky:

In a conference at the White House, Trump and Vance boiled over Zelensky. Trump, in front of the International media and the US, threatened the Ukrainian President and shouted at him badly. In this catastrophic condition between Russia and Ukraine, Trump comes up with the proposed truce terms.

He asked Zelensky to sign a cease-fire deal with Russia as the Russian President has already kept the word of a cease-fire with Trump. Zelensky, however, rejected Trump’s proposal and said that Ukraine would never support the killer or make compromises for the sake of the region. Ukraine will fight against the brutal and take revenge for the massacre done by Russia.

Trump and Vice President Vance said that despite being thankful to Trump and supporting Trump in admitting the proposed truce terms, Zelensky refused to accept these proposals. Trump, however, said that Ukraine has no card to play right now. It should make a compromise deal. Otherwise, we will be out and once we leave Ukraine on its own hands. It will not be good for Ukraine’s long-term survival.

Zelensky left the White House after being humiliated. Trump, on the other hand, said through his social media that Zelensky can be welcomed whenever he is ready to make a peace deal with Russia. Trump also said to the media that Zelensky should not prolong the war with Russia and make a peace deal immediately. 

Zelensky’s response:

Zelensky, however, told the media that he did not do any bad. Rather, it stood for its country. However, he wished that the conversation between him and Trump should not have to be in front of the media. The US State Secretary, however, criticised Zelensky and asked him to say sorry for wasting our time in a meeting.

US allies support Zelensky:

The US allies come in support of Zelensky after being pressured by Trump to sign a cease-fire deal with Russia. The British Prime Minister called Trump and Zelensky and showed his support for Zelensky. The Italian Prime Minister urgently called out a summit among the US, Europe and its allies to discuss Ukraine’s matter. Canada’s Foreign Minister also expressed his full support with Ukraine and said that Canada will provide enough support to Ukraine to ensure Ukraine’s security, sovereignty, and resilience. Ukrainian army, people, and Foreign Minister praised  Zelensky’s valour to stand erect in front of Trump.
