On Thursday 13th of Feb 2025, according to sources, which mentioned the Drug Testing Laboratory, a significant scandal involving the selling of fake medications was discovered throughout Sindh, especially Karachi.

Adnan Rizvi, the head of the drug testing laboratory, has acknowledged that a number of medications were discovered to be genuine.

Details show that (7) companies’ medications were found to be fake according to the chief of the Drug Testing Laboratory. The businesses that produce these medications are surprisingly nonexistent. Rizvi said that people who make counterfeit medications are putting people’s lives in risk and demanded that the Drug Act be strictly enforced against those responsible.

Even (2) people involved in the selling of counterfeit and unlicensed medications were taken into custody earlier as part of a crackdown on elements by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad.

A Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) spokeswoman said that Mazhar Qeebbal, a suspect in the suspected sale of counterfeit and unlicensed medications at a pharmacy in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave, had been taken into custody.

According to the representative, this arrest comes after (2) individuals from the same medical shop were captured last week. Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) officials found unlicensed and counterfeit medicines during that raid.
