Ukraine claims that Another Bridge in Kursk, Russia, has been Destroyed
On Sunday 18th of August 2024 according to Ukraine’s commander, Ukrainian air forces damaged a 2nd important bridge over the Seym River in the Kursk area of Russia, restricting the supply chain of a Russian disengagement and delaying the Ukrainian advance. Since beginning a surprise attack over the border on the 6th of August the largest attack of Russia since 2nd World War, Kyiv reported it had taken control of more than (80) villages across {(1,150) square kilometers (444 square miles)}in Kursk. According to details Kurk’s path: Take away one more bridge! Mykola Oleshchuk acknowledged on the messaging app (Telegram), “Ukrainian Air Force aircraft keeps trying to restrict the opposing side of supply chains with targeted airstrikes, which seriously impacts the course of battles.”
He uploaded a video of a bridge being completely knocked down and a huge cloud resulting from an explosion. A news agency was unable to get independent confirmation of the bridge’s removal or the conditions on the Kursk battlefield. The position of the bridge in Oleshchuk’s video was verified by a news agency as being in the Kursk region’s settlement of Zvannoye. The date the video was shot could not be independently confirmed by a news agency. While Moscow officials did not respond to the reports from Ukraine right away. According to a few Russian military writers, such as the well-known War Gonzo project, there was a military attack on the Zvannoye bridge by Ukraine on Sunday 18th of August.

Using the Telegram messaging app, a Russian military writer known only as (Rybar) who is connected to the defense ministry reported that although the bridge sustained significant damage, it did not give way and is still usable by walkers and, in some situations, light vehicles. Since Friday 16th of August, Ukraine has run over the bridge twice. Russian forces are reportedly supplied by (3) bridges in the area of the Ukrainian army’s advance, (2) of which have been severely destroyed or damaged, according to military experts. On the other side (Pro-Russian) military blogger\writer Yuri Podolyaka, who was born in Ukraine, stated on the 18th of August that what was happening on the Kursk battlefield was quite peaceful while Ukrainian soldiers were gathering.
In the upcoming days, he said, Ukraine is probably going to make an effort to take control of another important bridge the Psyol River which is important for the movement of Kyiv forces forward or to maintaining defense. On the 18th of August, Zelenskiy congratulated the Ukrainian soldiers who were part of the (Kursk operation and the eastern front), and he requested that the country’s partners hurry the delivery of the military help that had been promised. During an evening televised broadcast, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated, We have an operation in the Kursk area that continues to suffer hardships on the military of Russia and the Russian country, their defense industry, and their economy. We have high expectations for our partners’ tasks, and we need them to hurry”. Zelenskiy further stated, “There are no holidays in war.
