HANOI: On Sunday, Vietnam announced a plan to evacuate more than half a million people and also ordered boats to stay ashore. At the same time, Sanya closed businesses and public transport due to the intensifying Typhoon.

Vietnam plans to evacuate:

The Chinese Meteorological Center said that before reaching Vietnam, the storm is predicted to hit Hainan. As per the Vietnam National Weather Forecast Agency, the typhoon intensified with winds reaching 166 kph. It is also expected that the wind’s strength will likely increase to 180 kph.

According to the state media, the Vietnamese authorities have planned to evacuate 586,000 people from Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Hue, and Danang. The typhoon was expected to reach there early on Monday.

The step is taken so the lives of the people can be saved. The recent floods and the cloud bursts in Pakistan have also caused casualties and unrest in the region. That is why the natural calamities should be meticulously handled.

The Vietnamese government told the people not to go outside. The police are all active to help the people in every situation. Flights are cancelled. Though the airlines did not give any further details about the cancellation or delays in flights.
