The Person Being Charged In The Samiya Hijab Kidnapping Case Has Been Placed On Physical Remand

Samiya Hijab, a TikToker and “friend” of the deceased influencer Sana Yousuf, was abducted and placed on bodily remand by an Islamabad local court.
Presenting Hassan Zahid to the court, the investigating officer requested physical remand so that he could be questioned. Accepting the IO’s plea, the court placed Hassan Zahid under physical remand for five days in police custody.
Previously, Samiya Hijab reported escaping an attempted kidnapping in Islamabad. Samiya uploaded a video to her TikTok account that appeared to be from a CCTV camera outside her home and showed a man pushing her into a white car.
The man was named by Samiya Hijab as Hassan Zahid, who she claimed started pursuing her after she declined his proposal of marriage. A picture of the culprit, who apparently started threatening to kill her and started visiting her home in the capital city, was also posted by the TikToker.
Samiya Hijab said that when the suspect got to her house, he took her phone. Zahid violently pushed her into his car and drove off as she came to retrieve her phone.
“My friend Sana passed away earlier for the same reason she turned down a proposal”. She declared, “I don’t want to become Sana.” After turning down a boy’s marriage suggestion, Samiya Hijab denied to become like Sana Yousuf and in her video asked the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad for protection. To stop such incidents from happening in Pakistan in the future, she also called for more reliable action.
Additionally, the TikToker filed a report with the police in Islamabad. Within a day of receiving the issue at hand, the capital police arrested the perpetrator. It is important to note that on June 3rd, (22-year-old) Umar Hayat, also known as “Kaka”, shot and killed Sana Yousuf, a TikToker for Samiya Hijab, in Islamabad. The (17-year-old) was reportedly slain by Hayat after she continuously rejected his advances for “friendship.”
