KARACHI: The Met Office predicted that on Wednesday (today), there will likely be a shift in the wind direction, providing some relief from the intense heat for the city’s residents. The hottest temperature of the month was recorded on Tuesday, with a maximum of 37.5 degrees Celsius.

According to Chief Meteorologist Dr. S. Sarfaraz, “the temperature is likely to drop slightly on Wednesday with the wind changing its direction from north-northerly to southwesterly. He claimed that the temperature had increased due to hot, dry winds coming from the desert.

The restoration of the sea breeze is complete. We expect beautiful weather starting on Wednesday and lasting for a few days,” he continued. He disregarded rumors circulating on social media that a heatwave starting on March 21 would arrive. It would be incorrect to classify even this brief period of high temperatures as a heatwave.

According to him, this phenomena is recorded when the temperature rises by at least five degrees over the mean temperature of that specific month for at least five days in a row. He claims that March has an average temperature of 32.6°C. The recent heat wave, which had highs of 36 and 37°C, only lasted three days. March’s final ten days are typically warm as they mark the start of the shifting weather. The weather for Wednesday is predicted to be fair to partly cloudy.
