Shehbaz’s Acceptance of Trump’s Plan Enraged Pakistanis

PAKISTAN: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, took to his social media platform. On his X account, he praised Trump and accepted his 20 points of ‘peace plan’ in Gaza. His acceptance and praise for Trump sparked 20 million Pakistani sentiments. Pakistanis stand with Palestine and will never accept those who were a part of genocidal attacks in Gaza.
Shehbaz praised Trump’s ‘peace deal’:
Israel, with the US support at the back end, did a massacre in Gaza. People all over the world are very furious and condemn Israel’s brutality. Pakistan is among those furious countries that strongly oppose Israel’s oppression of the innocent Gaza people.
Pakistanis showed their full support for Palestinians and clearly proclaimed their unwavering support for Gaza. Recently, the Pakistani Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff met the US President.
The ISPR media wing and the PM’s house press release confirmed their visit to the US and meeting with Trump. After they met with the US President, Shehbaz Sharif took to his social media platform ‘X’.
Shehbaz praised Trump in his tweet and declared Pakistan’s support for Trump’s 20 points for a peace deal between Palestine and Israel. Pakistanis showed their anger right after he tweeted on X.
In his tweet, Shehbaz said that “a durable peace between the Palestinian people and Israel would be essential in bringing political stability and economic growth to the region.” He also praised Trump’s efforts in spreading peace in the region.
Users bashed Shehbaz Sharif:
Within hours, Pakistanis bashed Shehbaz Sharif and clearly said that he has no one to talk on behalf of Pakistanis or no one to decide the fate of Palestine. One of the users tweeted and asked, “We as Pakistanis cannot decide what the Palestinian people want. How can Gaza be demilitarised while Israel keeps a security perimeter after 70,000 civilian deaths?”
Users said that they will be accountable for the Palestinians. That is why they should not support the assailants. Users said that it is not because of the same faith they both belong to, but the colonial subjugation they are against. The user said, “Not because we share the same faith but because we oppose colonial subjugation.”
In addition, users said that if Pakistan accepts Trump’s plan and stands with him, then it will also be considered as a country supporting a genocidal attack in Gaza.
Users said, “Neither foreign powers nor occupiers have the right to decide the future of Palestine. Palestine needs freedom, justice, and the end of apartheid, not empty plans.”
As per Trump’s 20 points of the Gaza cease-fire deal, many think that they will only be helpful for Israel and the US. However, these points will never give Gaza its due rights.
According to point no. 13, “Hamas will have no role in governance and Gaza would be fully demilitarised.” Veteran Actor, Sakina Samo, said, “Led by Trump? No way! Totally unfair plan.”
One user said about these points as a ‘blatant manifestation of the US power projection’ while some called it a trap. Some said that these points are from nowhere, showing diplomacy. However, these are clear reflections of capitulation. One tweeter tweeted, “Peace without justice is empty. Endorsement without conditions is betrayal.” Shehbaz Sharif’s tweet boiled the blood of Pakistanis. They are not ready to forgive him and clearly stated that they will never accept Trump’s mean plans that are developed to deprive Palestinians of their rights.
