Rohit Sharma Highlights Spinners’ Role in 2025 Champions Trophy

The captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, justified the selection of (4) spinners in the team for the 2025 the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy: (Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav).

On the 18th of January the All India Men’s Senior Selection Committee, under the direction of Ajit Agarkar, revealed Team India’s (15) man schedule for the (3) match ODI series in opposition to England and the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy 2025.

At an event for journalists, where captain Rohit Sharma and Agarkar spoke to the media, the announcement was made. Regarding the spinners’ responsibilities, Rohit underlined how crucial they are to giving the “bowling and batting” units more depth.

“When we have all-rounders who can spin, the spinners give us depth. Despite the fact that we lack many seaming all-rounders, these guys are excellent bowlers and batsmen. Not just spin-bowling all-rounders, Sundar, Jadeja, and Axar are true all-rounders,” he stated.

The captain, 37, talked about how happy he was with the spinners’ previous performances and their versatility.

He highlighted their capacity to fortify the group in every way. These players aren’t chosen only to cover a position like bowlers or hitters. The squad has faith in their talents since they have done well in crucial circumstances. It is always advantageous to have this depth with high-quality spin options, Rohit continued.
