Punjab Launches e-Cattle Market App For Online Livestock Trading

In celebration of Eid-ull-Adha, the Punjabi government launched the e-Cattle Market App and Web Portal, which enables people to buy and trade sacrificial animals online.

The Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company (PCMMDC), in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), is in charge of the effort.

In addition the program looks to increase operational efficiency and modernize the trading of sacrificial animals.

The digital platform requires online registration and direct communication with verified merchants to ensure transparency and well-informed decision-making.

Users are taken to the listing after registering and confirming, which offers comprehensive details on the animal, such as “pictures, videos, weight, and price”, enabling purchasers to make knowledgeable choices.

The process is further made more reliable by the system’s provision for secure transactions, health monitoring, and animal identification. This method was created by PITB in response to directions from the Punjabi government in order to improve performance in the animal trade industry and simplify the process.

Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released guidelines for cattle markets’ heatwave safety precautions. Ahead of Eid al-Adha (the Feast of Sacrifice), dozens of animal marketplaces spring up in cities and villages all throughout the nation. Water supply facilities for animals at the province’s cattle markets have been approved by DG Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
