PTI filed a petition in IHC:

On Friday, the President of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC). In the petition, Junaid Akbar, the President of KPK, said that the government is not treating Imran Khan fairly. Moreover, it has imposed restrictions on Imran’s meeting with the PTI leaders. Akbar repeatedly made this statement and appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to pay heed to the petition.

After he filed a petition, he spoke to the media wing. While talking to the media, he said that the government’s action is intolerable. The restrictions imposed on the PTI founder, Imran Khan, can create high tension between the state sectors, the PTI founding body, and the leaders.

He also said that the PTI is not taking harsh steps to maintain law and order. PTI made a lot of sacrifices, like the incarceration of Imran Khan without any crime, the injustices on the PTI leaders, and the torture made on the PTI supporters. We all bear these injustices to maintain the supremacy of the Constitution and the law.

He also highlighted that senior PTI leaders will meet with the Chief Justice of Pakistan and will explain to him what the party means by injustices imposed on them. He added that the unfair treatment of the ex-premier will also be discussed with the CJP.

Junaid Akbar also stated that the PTI will hold a meeting with Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman. He, however, said that the meeting would be beneficial for political stability. Akbar also said that PTI’s talk with Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman will be done after consulting with Imran Khan. Moreover, he said that the Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif is part of the KPK government and Muhammad Ali Durrani is no longer part of PTI anymore.

Punjab government response:

After an allegation by the PTI, the Punjab Government came forward and negated these allegations. On the same day, the Punjab Government passed statements rejecting the PTI’s allegations. Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said that PTI is not restricted to meeting with Imran Khan. Imran Khan’s family, legal team, and party leaders meet with Imran Khan regularly.

She also condemned PTI for making false allegations. She said that PTI thinks that the prison is an amusement park where you are allowed to be welcomed at any time. PTI should know that it is the prison where you are supposed to follow the decorum. There are visiting hours to meet with the person inside the jail. PTI leaders and the family can meet Imran Khan during visiting hours.

In addition, she said that when PTIs have nothing to say or allege, then they play the victim card. She also warned PTI that writing letters could not escape them from the punishment or secure any deal for Imran’s release. She also feels pity for the party for their double standards in which, on the one hand, they write letters to reflect that their actions are following the law, and on the other hand, they make campaigns only benefiting PTI.

PTI leader’s firm stance:

Barrister Saif said that the restrictions made on PTI founder Imran Khan are all because the government wants to make a deal with the party. He stressed that PTI is not like PML-N. Unlike Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan will never make a compromise deal with the authorities. He also added that such restrictions indicate that the government is violating basic human rights and ruining the court’s orders.

He said that Imran Khan’s dissent to the government’s deal put the government in distress. He again stated that the party and the founder would never bow down just for the release of Imran Khan from prison.

National Assembly speaker and the PTI’s central figure, Asad Qaiser, proclaimed to the gathering in Swabi. While talking to the people there, he maintained the PTI’s stance. He said that PTI would tolerate injustices and unfair treatment for the supremacy of the Constitution and law but never sign on the compromised deal with the government.
