PPP and PMLN decide on a sharing of the Authority plan for Punjab
On Monday, 24th of June 2024, the PMLN promised the PPP that it would take into account their requests concerning Punjab. The parties have reached an agreement over the distribution of power arrangement in Punjab. They will now forward their reports to the governance of the parties they represent for their final decision, which is planned to be made public. The Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League Noon met here on Sunday, 23rd of June. 2024, to talk about the distribution of power arrangements in Punjab, with a focus on the problems facing south Punjab.
According to detail, PPP participants at the forum were (Hassan Murtaza), (Nadeem Afzal Chan), (Ali Haider Gillani), and (Raja Parvez Ashraf). With others, (Ahmed Khan), the speaker of the Punjab Assembly, (Rana Sanaullah), as well as (Khawaja Saad Rafique) defended the PMLN. According to the sources of information, the Pakistan Muslim League (PMLN) promised the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) that its requests would be met.

Assisting the Pakistan Muslim League committee in the discussions with the Pakistan Muslim League, the top leader (Hassan Murtaza) of Punjab, confirmed that the conversations had progressed positively and that both parties will now submit reports to respective leaderships for a final decision. When asked about rumours claiming that the Pakistan Muslim League had agreed to the Pakistan Muslim League’s requests, Hassan Murtaza said that the Pakistan Muslim League understood the demands in good faith and promised to take them into review. Following the committee meeting, PPP leading leader Nadeem Afzal Chan spoke with the media and claimed that the discussions had been peaceful and that things were going the right way.
Speaking to Punjabi matters, he stated that the PPP was demanding political time, and discussions were underway to put the written show into effect. There was also talk on local political elections. The PPP desires that the PMLN government in Punjab design the local government structure and include the PPP’s ideas in it. He declared, “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will make the final announcement by today or Tuesday.” A position in Punjabi government division committees, as well as participation in the market and Zakat committees in addition to Baitul Mal committees, have been asked by the PPP in accordance with the power-sharing formula that was settled on among the PPP and PMLN.
According to sources, the PPP has also requested to be represented on a number of government task groups and committees. As part of its demands, the PPP wanted participation and the chairmanship of ongoing committees at the assembly level, as well as administrative authority over every district in Punjab. According to PPP Secretary General Senator Taj Haider, the government has acknowledged the party’s requests but is still not going along with them. “There are still important concerns, and the government officials who are having discussions with us need to keep their promise.
In an interview with The News, Senator Taj Haider stated, “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is a guy of devotion and keeps his word.” “We backed the PMLN to preserve democracy and save the nation from slipping into instability.” As both sides were signing the agreement, the PPP secretary general said the government needed to keep its word. He was disappointed that the government’s representatives in the discussion committee were behaving incorrectly, but he also praised PM Shehbaz Sharif for keeping his word.
