terrorist group’s money, which is benefiting it in supporting 50,000 militants and their dependents, and
its activities.
During the UN Security Council conversation on Afghanistan, Pakistan’s long-term representative to the
UN in the US, Ambassador Munir Akram, asked the UNSC to support Islamabad’s demand that In the

end its ties with the TTP and its related groups and block them from carrying out terrorist acts on
Pakistan or its neighboring countries”.
He pointed out that if ignored, the TTP, which is backed by a group known as Al Qaeda and certain state
supporters, might become a worldwide terrorist danger. The UNAMA mandate excludes terrorismrelated matters. However, he warned that terrorism, both within and from Afghanistan, remains the
most important hurdle to peace in Afg.

(98%) among these returns are genuine. The remaining two percent whose faced deportation included
persons engaged in terrorist activities, cocaine trafficking, and other related crimes, as well as

in the discussion. China and Russia supported the current talks with the Afghan Taliban, the letting go of
blocked money, and the relaxing of restrictions on Taliban leaders.

assistance with emergencies, trade, and economic growth for the Afghan people.

destiny. Peace, stability, and development in Afghanistan are critical for Pakistan”, he proceeded.
He opposed to the UN report on the forcible removal of Afghan refugees into Pakistan. He stated that
Pakistan has hosted more than five million Afghan refugees over the last forty decades at a significant
social, economic, and safety expense to our country and culture, with little support from the rest of the
world.
He also said, “In terms of documented border incidents, Pakistani security forces always exchanged
shots in response to attacks across the border carried out by the TTP and its related groups on
Pakistan’s border checkpoints and facilities.”
He stated that these terrorist groups including Daesh, Al Qaeda, and the TTP and its subsidiaries, which
are responsible for ongoing attacks against Pakistani army and civilian populations.
Making the country’s policy, he stated that Pakistan believes that ongoing communication with the
Afghan Acting Government is critical to normalizing conditions in Afghanistan. In addition, Pakistan is
pleased with the selection of an independent expert on Afghanistan. However, he or she must have a
clear mandate, be attractive to the AIG and regional nations, and be chosen after discussions with
everyone parties.
