Pakistan Army Foils Suicide Attack in North Waziristan

On Friday, PTV reported that security forces foiled a security attack in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali district. As per the information, 4 terrorists were killed during the operation.
Terror attempt thwarted in Mir Ali:
On Friday, PTV confirmed that security forces successfully foiled a suicide attack on a military camp in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali district. The attackers were referred to as Khawarij, who attempted to storm the camp using explosives and gunfire.
Sources said one terrorist rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the camp’s wall, while three others tried to enter the premises. However, the vigilant and timely response of the troops stopped them before they could breach the security boundary.
Officials confirmed, “All three were killed outside the camp. No personnel from the security forces were harmed in the attack.”
The Interior Minister praised security forces:
Mohsin Naqvi praised the courage and professionalism of the security forces. He said they had thwarted the evil intentions of Khawarij. Naqvi said, “Salute to our brave soldiers who prevented a major tragedy and protected the nation with their lives. Their timely action brought the Khawarij to an exemplary end, and every Pakistani stands proud of their valour.”
Counter terror operations:
The latest attack comes as Pakistan intensifies its operations against terrorism. According to reports, 88 terrorists were killed in the past two days.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) revealed that 34 “India-backed” terrorists were killed during operations in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, and Bannu. These operations are part of ongoing efforts to neutralize militant networks targeting Pakistan’s security forces.
Rising attacks after ceasefire breakdown:
Pakistan has witnessed a sharp increase in terrorist incidents since the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its ceasefire with the government in 2022. Most attacks have targeted police, law enforcement, and military personnel, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.
Just last week, 11 soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel and a major, were martyred during an operation in KP’s Orakzai district. In response, the army launched a retribution operation that killed 30 terrorists involved in the attack.
