On Independence Day, More Than 90 People Were Detained In Karachi For Aerial Firing.

According to reports, the Karachi Police captured around “90” individuals for fatal aerial shootings during Independence Day festivities.
A police official stated that over “100 cases” have been filed and that “68 illegal guns” were found among the suspects. Police claim that more death and attempted murder cases are being filed against the perpetrators.
It should be mentioned that Karachi’s Independence Day festivities took a terrible turn when “82” people were injured and at least “3” people were killed by celebratory aerial firing. Police say “the events occurred all throughout the city, with 12 people hurt in the South Zone, 30 in the East Zone, and 43 in the West Zone”.
An (8-year-old) girl in Azizabad was shot in the head and died at the scene. Older men were shot in the head and neck and died in separate incidents in Korangi and Lyari.
Moreover (6) boys, (1) girl, (24) women, and (51) men were among the wounded. The shootings were noted by Sindh Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon, who emphasized that the purpose of Independence Day is not to put lives at danger.
He urged people to refrain from aerial firing, saying, “Celebrating is not a sign taking somebody’s life.”
