According to sources, a major operation against a fraud cybercrime gang operating close to Maskan Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, has been initiated by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).

By offering phony visas and food frauds, the cybercrime gang fooled citizens and caused them to suffer large financial losses. The group would attract the citizens with false promises of grocery deals or visas, and they would receive plenty of money in exchange.

Authorities claim that those charged had fake bank accounts in the names of people who were innocent. A female victim was even connected to one account.

Under the cover of fee-based grocery sales and visa registration fees, the Cybercrime gang was employed to collect money. Six people were arrested in connection with this case, notably “Mohammad Imran, Baas, and Faisal Zafar”.

It was discovered that the group had routinely opened several bank accounts under fake identities in order to carry out their fraud.

Pakistan’s cybercrime teams are attempting to eliminate online scam networks that cheat innocent individuals and steal their valuable money that they store for investments or savings as part of a larger operation.

A notification regarding the regulations governing the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) was previously released by Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior. The NCCIA will have the power to be frozen properties in Pakistan under the new regulations, but the Director General’s approval is needed before any assets can be frozen or restored.

Additionally, the agency will be authorized to ask foreign organizations for help with its investigations. As per the regulations, the NCCIA shall coordinate with important institutions and provincial officials throughout Pakistan while conducting investigations under important portions of the Pakistan Penal Code. The NCCIA will create specialized divisions to fight online abuse of kids and fraud in finance in Pakistan.
