Israel carried out an air strike in the Syrian city of Aleppo early on Friday, in the result of which 38 people, including different soldiers of Syria, were killed. According to the news provider, two different security sources have said that five fighters of the military organization Hezbollah have also been killed in Israel’s air strike.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense has said in a statement that was issued on Friday in which it was reported that some civilians and soldiers have been killed in the operation carried out by Israel and Hezbollah. The ministry did not specify in the statement whether the civilian and military deeds were the result of Israeli airstrikes or the Lebanese army organization Hezbollah. According to the Syrian Ministry of Defense, Israeli planes attacked the suburbs of Aleppo between Thursday and Friday at around 2:30 a.m. At the same time, in response to this operation, there were also drone attacks from the suburbs of Aleppo, which were directed at “terrorist organizations.”

The statement added that as a result of the aggression, a large number of civilians and military personnel were killed, and public and private properties were damaged. According to Reporters, Israel did not immediately respond to the airstrike in Aleppo. It should be noted that since the start of the Gaza war, Israel has extended its operations to Lebanon and Syria. Iran-backed militant groups, including Hezbollah, control large swaths of eastern, southern, and northern Syria in the civil war.

Israel says it is targeting Iran-backed fighters in Syria. It should be noted that on October 7 last year, the Palestinian militant organization Hamas attacked Israel and killed around 1200 people. During the Gaza war that started after this attack, there have been several exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah on the Lebanon-Israel border. According to the news agency ‘AFP’, the Syrian official news agency ‘SANA’ has also confirmed the death of civilians, including soldiers, in the attack on Friday morning.
According to the British organization Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Israeli strikes took place near Hezbollah’s rocket depot and 36 soldiers were killed in the attack. However, the Syrian army has not issued any statement regarding the deaths of soldiers.
